Question ummm, how do I turn off traction control?

I have tried searching the threads and can't really find another user who has this exact problem. (if it is a problem)

In my 03 ss, traction control does work, we've all had snow storms and ice problems this season, so I know this much....

BUT, i am a person who likes ALL of the features of something to work, even if I don't ever see myself using them.

Problem (or maybe I'm not doing something right): How do you turn the traction control off?
I have tried pushing the "trac off" button. I thought it was that simple, yet it remains on. I have tried doing that in PARK, NEUTRAL, and DRIVE. nothing. I have even tried Holding it down for several seconds. Is there another way?

In my cousin's 04 impala ls, all I did for him was simply press the button, and his "trac off" light came on.

Is it possible that the dash light bulb is burnt out? Unplugging an ABS sensor should do it too, but I don't think that it what your after...

I don't think the light is out, well... I mean, it still will activate regardless of anything I have tried, and the notification will still show up in the message center screen.

Probably the switch then. Most people, when they have problems, its with getting the Traction Control to come on. I'd find that hard to trace...

It does sound like the switch is bad. All you have to do is push it and it's off.

You should hear a chime as well, so it most likely is a faulty Trac Off switch.
