Default Tires

Does anyone have any thoughts on purchasing a new set of OEM tires for a 03 SS instead of purchasing Goodyear GT's or triple assurance? I have around 64,000 miles on orginal OEM tires and think they are pretty good tires. Any thoughts???

If you're happy with 'em buy another set. I personally think there are a lot better tires out there though than the stock Goodyear RS-A's.

Stay away from the Goodyear's. They are all junk...

I have the Nitto 555 on and love them...

Where are you located? do these tires have to stand up to winter driving? are you looking for more performance or a daily driver/all season tire? i will be buying bf goodrich traction TA's come november when the snow flies here in MN. they have great reviews on a few different websites and my dad and brother have them on their daily drivers and would recommend them to anyone. a great all around tire in snow, rain, and dry pavement, and at $400 for 4, not a bad price either.

i am located in the northeast. i have heard the Goodyear GT is good but $60 bucks a tire on tire rack seems pretty cheap for a tire and i dont want to get something that wont hold up.

I bought my Goodyear GTs back in Feb when I bought the 05 and I think they perform very well so far. I really haven't had them in deep snow yet but I am sure they will do great.

Yeah blanket statements like "all goodyear are junk" are not helpful, not to mention, simply untrue. Goodyear GT's are good tires. However yes, they do make some terrible tires (RS-A's included in that category in my book).

Other good tires I considered are Bridgestone potenzas and BF Goodrich Traction T/A

Goodyear GT. Installed 2 weeks ago. Complaints: Noisy, wishy washy, out of balance after 2 rebalances on Hunter Machines, killed my fuel mileage by 3mpg. Need I go on?? That’s just in southern California weather. Pros: dry road grip

Nitto 555: Prob not a good Northeastern tire, but on my ZR1 and the MC SS awesome. Great feel, balanced even at high speeds, no noise, long lasting, and grip, grip, grip.
