I know the feeling I bought my 02 SS back in Nov and already have little over $1,300 in repairs and $600 in tires and $150 in blubs. I say give it one more chance with a Monte in better shape hope it works out for you !

What ever you do buy, don't get something with the 1999-2004 3400 engine. You'll have constant issues with that too. But then again, you'll have constant issues with almost any car you buy now-a-days. Just do us a favor. Don't buy anything with a huge coffee can/fart pipe exhaust and an aluminum wing bigger than the trunk lid.
this one's really hit or miss, i've had no problems so far (83k), i almost want it to happen tho so i have more of a reason to pull it all off, instead of just wanting to put my ported manifolds on
I haven't had any issues with mine either.. I had the LIM gasket replaced (when car was under warranty still) but to be honest, the engine has been more reliable than the electrical system..

I'd go with another monte!
And get a ss so you dont have to deal with the 3400 motor.We had one in our impala had to change head gaskets in 2009,guy who owns it now helps me work on quads,trucks,etc and he just changed the head gaskets last saturday again!
