Thought my Monte was toast twice tonight
had same problem other day after it rain i going round corner at 50 felt one the wheels start give i slowed down but ik every monte ive owned/drove they like to slide not hard get back under control, thats my thought maybe im just good driver, but yea ive had to many close calls like that glad u made it with car intact
In the late 90's earlier 2000's, and even through current on many vehicles, the base models do not have ABS.
My Monte handles GREAT in the rain. I think the Monte and My Mom's old 2000's Bonneville were the best handling cars i've ever driven in wet weather. I never felt unsafe in either. (except when I had COMPLETELY bald tires on the Monte. LOL. But I got new ones quickly after rain started).
Side note, the Michelin Hydroedge and my Monte make a GREAT team for wet weather driving. That being said, so does ABS.

After I read this last night I did some research and found out by 2012 all vehicles are required by federal law to have abs by 2012. I did some more digging today on the nhtsa and couldnt really find anything to confirm or deny it.
Becuase I didn't want to. If you haven't seen my other thread, I am in the market for a new car. Wouldn't bother too awful much if I totaled it at this point, nothing but problems as of late.
