For those with leather... a good reminder...
Just a good/general reminder - for those of us that live in winter/cold climate areas... now that we're running the heat alot, it's a good time to use leather conditioner on our interiors, so that the leather doesn't get dried out and become more prone to cracking...
I just did mine, and man!! - that leather soaked the cleaner and conditioner right up!! The stuff I use also has UV protection in it to prevent the sun's rays from also drying it out and cracking prematurely...
and don't forget those leather-wrapped steering wheels too, since they are front and center to the heating vents AND the sun!!

Funny you mentioned this, I just finished doing my seats and came to read this message! I use 303 aerospace protecant withNO petroleum distilates. Very important as it weakens glues and causes the "haze" to form on the windows inside the car as it evaporates.

yeah, I bought a 2-bottle package deal from Costco... leather cleaner and leather conditioner... it's by Blue Magic...
my stuff is in black bottles, but the ones on their site are beige... http://www.cargobluemagic.com/prod_l...ditioner.shtml
and their site leaves a lot to be desired as far as info goes... LOL I'm assuming it's their site, since the company name and location of Conroe, Texas is the same... but who knows... there's no URL on the bottles...

I just finished reading my owners manual, and in the "care & cleaning" section, it states to not use any kind of leather cleaners or protectants on the leather seats. Sounds kind of dumb to me, I would thinkquality car care product manufacturerswould make sure their products wouldn't be harmful to the leather. What gives with the owners manual instructions????
You should use what the dealer sells, because YES it does state in the manual to not use conditioners or cleaners on the leather. And I usually do mine twice a year, before winter and again before summer.
yeah and the dealer sells you some stuff that is has the right protect ants and stuff in it for their kind of seats.
But honestly there are tons of different products on the market now. and what the dealer seals is a good product but at the same time you can use the after market stuff to.
just make sure it is a decent name brand and don't have a alcohol base.

There are a lot of interior products out there. And while the dealer may be able to sell you a product they recommend also realize they want you coming back. It = more cash in their hands.
Don't forget anything you buy from them is inflated in price.
They charged me $10 for a bottle of touch up Galaxy Silver for my '06 Monte that I now see Auto Zone and Advanced now sell for like $4.99.
I can tell you (cause I've done this) using a protectant on the leather or cloth seats is a good idea. Summer is the worst time for your car's interior drying out. Not only from the sun, but the heat inside your car. But be careful when you wipe the seats down as it will make them slick as butter if they're leather or vinyl.
You can slide out of them if you hit the brakes too hard.
