Default Tell Us About Your Garage or Workshop

I recently bought a house and have a nice size 2 car garage. I have some plans to fix it up including:
  • adding an electric heater (already on hand)
  • changing existing incandescent bulbs to flourescent and adding some additional flourescent fixtures
  • additional electrical outlets
  • drywall or plywood ceiling with some insulation thrown on top
  • painting everything white so it is bright and easy to see
I'm interested in knowing about other peoples garages / workspaces. Post some pics, tell about what you have done to make it a comfortable place to work on your projects. Let us know what issues you ran into during your project. I'll post some pictures of my garage later today.

good post, im renting a 2 car garage/apartment above garage so I wont do anything to make it to nice lol. its also a small garage once turbo monte is backed in I have about 2ft behind the car and a foot in front of it. the other side is where all of my tools, hoist, spare parts are. the other side is where I rebuild things (trans, engine) it works out well but is to small for my liking because I have to have the door open to work on the car itself and if its winter time it sucks.... the lighting sucks very bad too lol

I know the feeling of working out of a rental. I lived in 2 apartments, both with one car garages. The 1st garage had no light in it and the 2nd apartment the garage had no power at all. Lighting is very important to a good workspace

Hi `Jacob,
It's great that you have a two car garage What is the size ?
(I don't want to have another nice `ride until I have a good auto bedroom to keep it in & also large enough to be able to open the doors & work on it (inside)...

Look forward to returning to your thread to see what are member's post & share.

I like this below one to start

The great thing about having a garage is having a place to work on all the projects you always needed a garage for. The funny thing is all the stuff I bought to put into my cars I've now put off installing until I get the garage up to par, lol.

work bench theres the heater I'll be wiring in soon enough, I have a nice fluorescent light there

monte & moto

ceiling incandescent bulbs these will be replaced with fluorescent lights maybe this weekend if i'm ambitious. Ceiling will be plywood eventually most likely just staple some 3 mil plastic for the winter

my buick decent room can walk around

the garage had the epoxy coat already on although its getting thin in a few spots still nice
