T-Top Guys Need Some Advice, possible new SS buy
Guys,
I am about to buy my 3rd SS (1988 SS) and wanted to know if you all would buy a t-top car missing a top side? Car looks to be in good shape and will be going to give a visual over all this week.
What are the weak points to look for in a T-Top Car?
Where would the main rust spot be found or hidden?
How hard is it to find replacement T-Tops?
http://memphis.craigslist.org/cto/4491145515.html
Thanks all
Bently

Missing a top side... not sure what that means.
Looks a bit rough, paint faded, but the car looks honest no recent paintwork, not sure if I like a 350, means the factory 305 died. Rough neighborhood.
T top replacement. Easy if the car is a camaro/firebird. I am sure they can, but for how much?
I have always thought of this car as a collectible.

pull the rubber around the t-tops back and look for rust signs or globs of sealer. all t-tops leak. if they tell you they don't they're lying. i've owned all different makes of t-top cars and all of them leaked around the side glasses. no way to seal that.when you;re driving the wind pulls the glass out. t-top glasses aren't that rare so don't pay over 2 bills for one
