Arrow Hey guys, i need your advice

As some of you may know i purchased my Monte this past spring from a used dealership.
She had 85,XXX miles on her, and she's do for her oil change.
Now, i don't know what the previous owners were using or what the dealership equipped it with.
But what would you recommend for an 04 Monte Intimidator
What oil and filter would you recommend for my monte's first change.
Thanks again guys/girls.

a friend at work has a supercharged monte, how do you change/fill the the supercharged oil, it seemed like it was a total biotch to change, also checking the power steering fluid was also a pain? it took atleast an hour to figure out where you check it/fill it, if you could, let me know so i can relay the message to him it would be very helpful, thanks

I will do a little bit more of research, thanks again. She can run a couple more miles without changing the oil, or is that tooo much of a risk to be taking?

ther power steering fluid sux becuz of where they put the reservoir. its in the rear of the engine bay under the alternator sorta. if u find the alternator u basically have to climb on the engine and look under it.

I use Castrol Full Synthetic in mine. I noticed a difference the first time I put synthetic in it. The engine ran smoother. I'm sold on synthetic now!

you need 2 bottles of the 4 or 6 oz forget how many oz it come in. zzp and other venders sell them cheaper than the dealer. on the snout there's an allen screw need to screw off and suck it out with a syrinch attach with hose. you can get the syrinch and hose from grocery or harware store and make your own. any home made devices that will suck out the fluid will work also. after all the fluid is suck out. fill it up with new fluid. don't over fill it tho. what i do is when the fluid is close to the top i screw back the little allen screw until the head of the screw touches the fluid. you might have to screw in/out few time until the fluid touches screw head. i'm sure there are other easier method, but this is the method i learn. it's pretty simple really. supercharged oil is recommend to change every 25k-30k miles.

Go with FULL synthetic....I have never used anything but in my Monte! I use Mobil 1 5w-30...i've used the 0w-30 a few times to since they didnt have the 5w-30...

As for the filter, I either use an AC Declco, Mobil 1, K&N, or Fram Xtended Gaurd (this is the only Fram i'll use, the rest are crap), Wix, or Purolater Pure One.
