I currently have the surfboard spoiler on my MC.

My question to you, forum, is: What kind of spoiler do you have, and what kind of spoiler have you seen more of?

 

From my past experience most like the pace car version, I am in the minority as I like the surf board on my car, I feel it flows better...over all by me most have LS's without any spoiler and the dreaded Hump...If I do see ss's by me they are not modded and have the stock surf board as well.

I have the Pace Car spoiler on mine, and I love it. The surf board spoiler is okay, but I love the pace car spoiler more. I feel the Monte NEEDS a spoiler. Every time I see one without, it just looks horrible to me. That's just my opinion though.

 

the pace car spoiler is most common. but i have the dreaded hump with no spoiler. so im getting a xenon spoiler after christmas it is my favorit

 

Same here. I'm not sure what the deal was with the hump in the trunk lid. I don't recall seeing any other generation Monte with that feature in the trunk lid. Not sure if it's supposed to be reminiscent of older cars that had a spare tire (or a fake version) bolted to the trunk lid.

I do like the surfboard spoiler. I prefer the nascar inspired spoiler on my Monte. But I think the surfboard style adds looks with a touch of class. The nascar spoiler adds sportiness.

 

I think the hump is just because it would look weird flat, it kind of emphasizes the 3rd brake light.

I prefer the pace car spoiler, but either one is better than neither IMO

 

Are the spoilers easily interchanged? I want to buy a pace car spoiler because I think it looks sportier. The surfboard makes the trunk look almost too long, in my opinion.

 

I agree, this is the only time I will say a surfboard looks good.
When it has a Razzi Kit, that kit makes the Monte "squared" or "rectangle" in a way, so the surfboard is okay. I've met someone with a kit and surfboard and it does complete the kit and car together.

 

If you switch to an 00-05 pace car spoiler the holes wont line up so you will need to fill the holes and drill new ones.

Although, if you get a pace car spoiler from 06 and 07, it goes up the trunk a little more, check Chibi's, that will bolt right up with not problems
