Super Chevy 2010 Las Vegas autocross novice winner
Hello been a while since I posted here and just wanted to share with you all my 02 Monte SS did pretty good in an "Autocross" event at this years Super Chevy magazine event in Las Vegas.
I figured what the hell might as well see how well this front wheel drive car could do against the rear wheel drives on an Officially sanctioned SCCA autocross course at the Super Chevy event. I mean I drove the **** out of this car it was way to much fun. Drive your car as fast as you want in front of spectators, judges and against the clock. It was all about having the exhaust cutout open, windows down tunes a blasting and driving it like you stole it.
There were old and new Corvette's, Camaro's, Impala's, Malibu's and such. The seasoned professional SCCA nationally recognized champion Mary Pozzi took 1st place for experienced drivers. Mary rode with me two times to critque me on how to navigate the course and then I asked her to drive my Monte and upon completeing she told me how impressed with the cars acceleration handling and braking she was. Mary also owns a 2002 Camaro SS but was racing a sponsered TCI suspensions Camaro at this event.
With my Monte SS I took 1st place in the Novice class and there were Corvette's and 2010 Camaro SS (suspensioned sponsered also) and such and I took it from them. I chewed up and had to replace my front tires upon returning to Utah.
Super Chevy 2010 July issue and Chevy performance 2010 October issue had small pictures of my Monte SS and small write ups, but it was cool to even get in the magazine's. I had many people complimenting me on the car's build. Had an extra helmet and took people for rides around the course a few times. It was way to much fun!!
Anyway just thought I would let you know I represented us Monte Carlo types good and came home with a plaque. Hell yeah!!
538 WHP TURBOCHARGED and rolling with the big dogs!!
Put a few pictures on my Winning Monte SS on this sites "My Garage" page of the Super Chevy magazine coverage, let me know what you think.. Thanks all!!

I like how you are rocking the Full BMR package as well, can't say enough great this about that setup.
Your car is wicked!!! Crazy numbers for FWD...
Opps just saw that date....lol.

He turbo’d it and it also has madd engine work. "Fully built custom race spec engine / transmission.
Custom one up Turbocharged system.
Cryo treated virgin Supercharged crank for 20% more tensile strength. One of a kind Billited rods. All bearings, cam have had "Calico" coating's. Diamond 10:1 pistons, Siemens 65 lb injectors. PT67 turbo, Intercooled, electric waterpump, ZZP fuel rails, ZZP exhaust manifolds, custom head work,Manley valves, custom upper intake manifold work, dual blow off valves, all pipes air, turbo etc. ceramic coated for reduced heat, oil recirculator, intank Aeromotive Eliminator fuel pump."
Also 350 is not the max per se, I’ve know people to put well over 450 into them. However, the trans starts to be of concern and you have sick torque steer; at least the one I’ve tested without posi trac.
Many people feel a safe number for FWD is around 300 – 350 hp.

This is a pretty sweet Monte. I can't imagine what that car must feel like.
Also, 3800's can handle WAY more then 350 crank or wheel hp. In fact, if you check out clubgp's dyno records, you will find that in order to get into the top 50 highest whp cars then you'll have to have at least 400whp. ZZP never found a limit to how much a stock bottom end could handle.
These engines are great

^^^ Correct, but then the trans starts to be of concern.
I knew a guy on another forum (and local meets) who could run 450 WHP on a dyno, no problem, but after the Dynos his trans would be toast...He said he was always scared to smash on it because of the way his turbos would kick in.
Not a problem for the guy above due to his fully build race trans...Sigh, make me want to start modding again...lol
