A team of motorsport enthusiasts led by Fourdin Auto Sport founder,
Yves Fourdin, have built one of the most extreme versions of the Chevrolet Matiz mini to date.
The homologated racing car has been fitted a stock 7.0-liter V8 engine
from the Corvette Z06
that delivers an output of 505HP. We don't have all the details but the Corvette-powered Matiz
is said to accelerate from zero to 100 km/h (62mph) in just 3.7 seconds and to 200 km/h (124 mph)
in 10.94 seconds while the car's top speed is 260 km/h (162 mph). Click through

With mainstream sportscars like the new 2010 Chevy Camaro, the
first recorded mishap is usually the one that draws the most
attention upon it. This relatively 'light' crash happened on March
20th, 2009 on Dundee Road in North Oakville, Ontario and from what

GM updates 2009 Chevrolet Caprice for Middle Eastern Markets

What Aussies have come to know as the Holden Statesman / Caprice
or otherwise, the long wheelbase (luxury) version of the
Commodore - Pontiac G8, is sold in the Middle East under the
Chevrolet brand. For 2009, GM has upgraded the Chevrolet Caprice
with an all-new six speed automatic transmission and while they
were at it, they also improved specifications across the range.
The new six-speed 6L80E automatic transmission with Active Select
is available with on the SS and Royale variants with the 6.0-liter
engine on that delivers 360HP at 5,700 rpm and peak torque of
530Nm at 4400 rpm. The Caprice is also offered with a 3.6-litre V6
engine generating peak power of 240HP at 6,000 rpm and maximum
torque of 330 Nm at 2600 rpm.
The 2009 Caprice V8 SS model receives a number of additions,
including high-intensity HID headlamps, remote start to cool down
the interior footwell illumination As for the rest of the range, ew
chrome-plated plastic interior door handles have been added to the
LTZ, SS and Royale, while all models are now available with a new
Switchblade Silver paint.
Furthermore, ESP now comes standard on the LTZ V6 variant, while
Bluetooth connection for mobile phones is featured on all models
from the LTZ upwards.

GM took advantage of last weekend's 12 Hours of Sebring endurance
race in Florida to show off its 2009 Corvette Competition Sport
models. Among those that attended the event was Keith Cornett of
Corvette Blogger that had the opportunity to enjoy a fast lap of the
Sebring racetrack in the special edition Vette from the passenger's
seat. The Competition Sport package includes several upgrades
including the Z51 performance packgage, NPP perfomance exhaust
system, a differential cooler and the "necessary" racing stripes. Hit

Muscle Car V8 Sound Comparo: New Camaro SS vs Challenger R/T vs Mustang GT

Masculine looks aside, one of the main traits of any authentic pony
car is the sound of its V8 engine. With this in mind, Edmund's
Insideline created a short video with the audio tracks of the new
2010 Chevrolet Camaro SS, 2009 Dodge Challenger R/T and 2010
Ford Mustang GT. For the record, it seems that the Mustang was
filmed on a different location than the other two cars, something
that could have affected the sound quality. Either way, judging by
this video, we'd give first place to the Stang because its V8 churns
out a more consistent and less chainsaw-like sound with our second
vote going to the Chevy. Check out the video after the jump cast your vote.

General released four new videos of its resurrected pony car that
include media reactions from the presentation and a chat with the
firm's Global Vehicle Line Executive, Gene Stephanyshyn, and
President of Global Design, Ed Wleburn. For the record, all films
were produced/edited by/for GM so don't be surprised that even
the video with the automotive journalists' reactions, is about how

If you happen to be into car-graphics and at the same time like
Vettes, then you will be pleased to know that Chevrolet has
introduced yet another a new special edition version of its sportscar
to celebrate the racing success of the Corvette C6.R in the American
Le Mans GT1 series. The GT Championship Edition is available in
either Coupe 4LT ($65,310), Convertible 4LT ($71,815), or Z06 3LZ
($86,385) forms with buyers being able to choose between two
base colors, yellow or black.
The package includes C6.R livery inspired graphics with Corvette
Racing 'Jake', Championships and driver flags, ZR1 style body color
full width spoiler and chrome wheels, a carbon-pattern engine
cover, custom leather wrapped ebony interior with yellow accent
stitching and GT1 embroidery on the seats, instrument panel, and
center console armrest.
In addition, the Coupe and Convertible 4LT variants also come
equipped with a Z51 Performance Package and a NPP performance
exhaust system. Production will be limited to 100 units per each
color and body style combination, so if you do the math (three
variants x two colors) that comes to a total of 600 cars.

movie, 'Revenge of the Fallen' with five Chevrolet-based characters

managed to secure exclusive footage of the film edited by director Michael
Bay. The video that follows contains scenes with all five Chevy-bots,
including SIDESWIPE (Corvette Stingray concept), SKIDS and MUDFLAP
(based on Chevy's Beat and Trax concepts), JOLT (Volt) and of course,
BUMBLEBEE (Camaro SS).

Motors lifted the veil on its latest concept car, the Corvette Stingray

will play the role of 'SIDESWIPE' in the second iteration of the
Transformer saga, called "Revenge of the Fallen". Unfortunately for
Corvette fans, GM has no intention of building a production version of the
concept, which is a pity as with the exception of the 'Batmobile-ish' rear-
end, we found the Stingray's design quite sexy. Click through to see live

GM Design Vice President, 'soft-talking' Ed-Welburn.
