Default Strange air conditioner issue

Hey everyone so my air conditioner is acting strange. A few days ago I went turn my air conditioning down and it just kept going for a good 5 or 10 minutes. Then just the other day I had got home and turned my car off and took the key out and the air conditioner kept on going. I don't think it's hurting anything. But it is annoying. It never used to do this, so I'm not really sure why it's doing it now. Does anyone have an idea?

I'm not sure of the ease of replacing it. Mine has been broke Since I got my Monte. But Since I have had more major things to repair or replace in it, the climate control has been a Very low priority. But what I do know is the things common to your heat and a/c are the control and the fan. Your a/c can't run after you turn the car off cause it is engine dependent. So is your heat. But the fan, Blower Motor is powered by the battery through a Fuse and a Relay. The fuse is not your problem. But the Blower Fuse and relay should be checked to narrow the problem down. If the Blower runs for a while after the car is turned off then my money would be on the Relay. But I could be wrong. It's worth checking thou! Good luck!

jc. sounds like you know montes. im having a problem with the air being cooler on passenger side than the driver side. its basically pushing outside air in instead of cool air. we have replaced the climate control unit, but its still the same.. i did get the climate control unit from junkyard so it could be bad. we are going to try a second one tomorrow. But i really have a gut feeling that its something else. Any ideas?
Thanks, Hiprz34

HIPRZ34, Thanks for the compliment! But I know about cars in general. I'm still learning about Monte specific quirks. The best I can tell you is that there are control gates for both sides. But again, I haven't taken mine apart cause there are other issues with my car that are higher on my priority list. There are other members with experience in this that can help much better than I.
