Default Stock wheel painting!

Hey guys. Thought you might like to see the work I did on my stock tires/rims.

I thought it looked awesome, and it obviously cost a fraction of the cost of buying new rims. Sadly, the yellow tire paint is coming off already after only 10 minutes of driving. There's a good chance I didn't clean well enough or didn't use enough coats. Either way, I feel it's doubtful whether or not the paint would stay on even if you did it perfectly, since the tire expands/contracts and is exposed to the elements. Paint is very crusty and inflexible once it dries. Probably going to remove the yellow lettering and just leave the tires and rims black. The black Plastidip on the rims came out nicely though! What do you think?

Go to the Walmart arts and crafts section and there should be a display full of paint markers, I bought the fine tip version and I've only had to repaint about 2 or 3 times in the last 6 months with minimal cracking. Painters brand.

Very nice, what a great transformation. Nice to see the custom touch still happening. Bet it took a few to prep the wheels, but it was worth it. Like the darker appearance it give your Monte. Like the Mad Max sinister curb appeal. Congrats!

Y'know I like the look. I use yellow tire paint too, but it is over raised white letters. I usually touch them up about once-a-year
