steering very heavy after sliding into pile of snow
The plows in Mass are killing my car this winter. Right now a lot of effort is Necessary to turn the wheel. Plenty of fluid and belt is fine but there is no whine. There is a lot of snow around the cv joint. I don't feel it's clogged but for the life of me I can't find the fuse to check it. I just put In a new fuel pump and can't afford a big repair
A small bend in a tie rod or damage to the rack/pinion shaft could cause what you describe and not be detectable by just looking at them. The front end being out of alignment will also cause difficult steering.
It happened very sudden. But the pile of snow was maybe a foot tall, I just can't believe it would break or bend anything enough to cause it. I just wish I could find a blown fuse and be done with it.
I'm with Mike (03SSLE) on this one..bent steering components and or possibly a bent rack component.
Did you clean the snow out of the area it was packed up in when you hit the snow bank?
