SSV Sam's Monte recent mods PIC's
Nice to see Sam again, he came out west to visit his lovely daughter for a few days and had a wonderful visit. Then over to Utah to see his other lovely girl who is always hitting him up for money and never even calls... LOL his 07 Monte Carlo SS. Sam while here to inspect his car's build also came with the intention of not standing about idly. The massive 1,000 CHP engine, custom 4" headers, Borg Warner turbo create tremendous amounts of underhood heat and the temperatures need to be reduced to insure optimal performance of all the components.
With power tools busily he cut away into the Monte's hood as a new hood vent was waiting to be installed. Additionally another hood breach was made to permit the installation of a fresh air scoop to provide copious amounts of cold air delivered directly above the turbo charger and tubing in the immediate area. Happily upon returning from the test drive and reading were made the underhood temps were substantially lowered. YEAH!! A home run!!!! The large lineal hood vent as you can see in one photo, Sam in the ball cap is speaking with Matt center and the body shop man about final details to attend to, which include painting the large hood vent to match the Monte's silver.
You will notice his custom billeted Blue anodized transmission pan extension, this adds an additional 4 qts tranny fluid thus preventing the pickup from not having fluid during extreme manuvers.
His custom front control arms guaranteed to provide the ultimate in control are unheard of in that they are made as soild steel tubular arms with one of a kind 'Johnny Joints" for the ultimate in flexability.
I could go on and will with another article at another time, there are a few more jewels to be revealed, there is just so much one could write about this truly one of a kind Monte Carlo SS. A few pictures follow:

I hear you, I drool everytime I'm around it. Some very serious work in that Monte. So jealous of that build.

LOL, your good! It is in fact a Mustang vent. The new Camaro hood vent could not be made to work with the hoods shape. You win a ride in his car.....

Wow that thing is no joke, some serious work there. Looks good! Like I said before, he's welcome at our Michigan Meets. I'd like to see that car in person.
