Default Split bench to bucket?

Since I got the LS 98 model I have the split cloth internior bench seat. Would it be possible to remove that and install some buckets out of a Z34? Would I be able to mount the center console from the Z34 into the LS? Would it be a simple bolt on or too much modification to be worth it?

I've been thinking the same thing. In theory, it should. The only thing i see that will give you work is going to move the shifting linkage from the column to the console. Maybe you should see about getting yourself a donor car and just take your time and move things over.

I'm not as familiar with the interior of the 5th gens as I am the 6th gens. But I would think the seats would be a simple bolt on swap.

After all, these cars are built on an assembly line. It would make sense to have the seat mounts in the same spot on all of the Monte Carlos of that year. That way optional seats are a simple bolt on for the factory.

Moving the shifter is another story though. I'll leave that to those that know better.

I know there aren't many people that enjoy the site, but MyMonte.com has a lot of 5th gens, and a lot of them have done the interior swap to leather and I'm sure there are a few writeups.
