Im new to the montes and i am putting my 98 in a race.

Anyone have any tips for me to reinforce the car to make it stronger?

Annd are there any small things i can do to get it more hp?

i know you guys know these cars inside and out

What motor do you have? What are you racing? There are several modifications you can do, but what is your budget?

 

its the 3.8 V6 in my 98 monte. My budget is minimal, so what ever the cheapest mods are i already cut the mufflers off and put a kn filter on it.

The cheapest, highest power gain you can get for that car is likely a PCM tune/aftermarket PCM. Or nitrous. You could also supercharge your car with the top end from an L67, if you source parts yourself, you could probably do a top end swap for ~$1000.

Again, what are you racing? L36's aren't the fastest things out there - hell, at this point, you'll have trouble keeping up with a lot of cars out there.

 

x2, what kind of race? since you're talking about reinforcement- I assume you mean autocrossing? We really need more details about what kind of race.
