These right here can hold their own against components triple the price. They retail for $500 but have been on sale at Sonic for $140, I have a pair sitting in my garage as we speak. My buddy put me on to them, he's got them in his 150db Tahoe and damn they sound sick!

I actualyl like mine. I have a 152+ db blazer which is soon to be a 155+ blazer lol and can hear the words all day and clear as day. Unless I find a sponsor for door speakers im stickin with Powerbass. For the price you said tho of $300 id really look into the brands I mentioned. They arent the best in the world for no reason lol. SOUND QUALITY is EXCELLENT in almost every level they offer. They do make a $10k comp set if you have them oney to spend haha

I would suggest Pioneer Premiers components in front and MB Quart in back with a JL HD600/4 amp to push them. The sound is incredible, at least with the head unit I have.

Obviously if you have a 150db+ vehicle, SQ isn't your concern. Although there are some exceptions to that rule, a la Steve Meade. Simply being able to "hear the words" doesn't qualify a speaker as sounding good, some of us want accurate musical reproduction and tonal quality with excellent imaging and soundstage. Yes, Focal, Hertz, Rainbow, DynAudio, Morel, those guys make some sick products for sure, but they come with a price tag as well. I've owned some Rainbows, still do actually, and Focal as well and to be honest neither one of them a.)Sound as good as my PPI 356's, b.)Were as affordable as my PPI 356's....The point that i'm trying to make is not that the PPI 356's are the best thing out there, rather, that you don't have to spend an arm and a leg to get great sounding speakers and simply buying a set from one of the manufacturers listed above isn't going to ensure that you have a setup that sounds better than those that are more affordable.
