Soooo curiosity...
So perhaps the final element would be a custom tune. Different spark plugs can help, as well as maintaining proper tire pressure.

:just after purchasing it(HORID performance and economy) I put the cold air intake on..then a flowmaster muffler(not full exhaust) then purchased a hypertech programer for it.. INCREDIBLE difference.. no more kicking down on straight stretches of road to maintain freeway speeds AND picked up a GOB on mileage. I've hit over 26 on the freeway several times and am VERY happy with this setup. I ALSO programed it w/the performance setting as was advised. With this package you wont be dissappointed. I'm not.

A combination of exhaust mods, a CAI, new rocker arms and an overkill tune has netted me an average gain of just over 4 mpg (as long as I refrain from stretching my right leg) and a very noticeable improvement in performance.
You can achieve both goals, just not at the same time.

You will need a Diablo tuner tool to do that though. (I did get a ram-air hood) I'd like to think it helps but it probably don't

Oh and if that ram air is sealed tight it should make more power than not having it. a tight ram air should generate a pound of boost at 60mph. granted its only a pound but every bit helps. whether or not it helps with your fuel mileage i think that would be hard to prove or disprove.

I've been trying to decide what type of exhaust to get and a good cost. I want something that roars, but not too loud where the neighborhood knows its me lol. I haven't shopped for this one yet. Just trying to be able to maintain a suitable mpg & add performance. Idk how ppl put 22s on these v8s....or go extremely high with rims...I can only imagine the gas!
How did lews tune help?

I opted for the performance setting but still get an extra 3mpg (If I behave)
agreed. especially on fuel injected cars you can definitely improve performance as well as mpg at the same time. on a carbed car, not so much. with a carb its always a compromise.
if he wants lew to tune it hes going to need to get a trinity or something because the predator wont work on his car. he has on 07.

Lew told me his new tune would do that. I defiantly can tell the difference. The tune also got rid of the rev limiter (good or bad)
you have a predator and he used it to change the shift points? what rpm does your car shift at at wot? not that im doubting you or lew just that its news to me that it can be done with the predator. he removed the limiter in park and neutral or all together?
