Default Soooo curiosity...

So as you guys know, I had the 2006 white monte Ls...now my baby is gone and I have a new 2007 ss! I was wondering what type of mods are available for improving mpg and also performance. Car is completely stock. And what things should I look at to make sure I'm getting good mpg? Pic below!

I would say fix it's breathing problems and you would get better performance.

Air intake and a larger diameter exhaust... Very nice Monte, guess there were only 10,000 of them made that year. Special car to keep in good order.

Aha yeah thanks bro and yeah I plan on it! I want to keep the majority stock but this stock radio is killing me with this line our converter for my subs. I still have everything from my last monte so I might swap but idk....

But intake and bigger exhaust, anything else engine wise I should check as far as better mpg?

the ls4 isnt known for getting awesome fuel mileage. i would say try and keep it in dod on the highway as much as possible. use your cruise control. the DIC will tell you when it engages if you cant tell. to my knowledge it only comes on in 4th gear at less than quarter pedal.
i can tell you that a cai didnt increase my mileage nor did a larger diameter exhaust. you can have the car tuned that may help with mileage. if you average anywhere in the 20s with 50/50 city highway driving then youre doing something right.

Yeah... you don't buy a v8 for the gas savings haha. Also remember to put the good stuff in that gas tank.

Congrats on the car!

Congrats, but you can't gain performance and mpg. One or the other

Ahaha I know. I'm cheating out on the 87 as of the moment. Money is super tight for about a month, then ill start changing the car and what I buy. Damn sales tax and extra stuff popping up. I read premium is the best for these cars, recommended, but not needed. It's not much of that gas change, my Ls had 20s so bigger rims was more gas so it Avgs about the same. I think I'm gonna do yellow, black, and white for this monte.

Besides a performance exhaust (I have Magna Flow) and air intake I suggest the "LEWTUNE" Lew is a member here and he does the tune by e- mail believe it or not

You will need a Diablo tuner tool to do that though. (I did get a ram-air hood) I'd like to think it helps but it probably don't

I've been trying to decide what type of exhaust to get and a good cost. I want something that roars, but not too loud where the neighborhood knows its me lol. I haven't shopped for this one yet. Just trying to be able to maintain a suitable mpg & add performance. Idk how ppl put 22s on these v8s....or go extremely high with rims...I can only imagine the gas!

How did lews tune help?
