Default Some pics of my 70 Monte.

Here are some recent pics of my 70 MC. As you can see, the paint needs to be redone as well as the interior. Some quick background on the car.

I bought it in 1987 while in college from my college suitemate. It originally had a 400 small block and 350 turbo tranny. In 1997 I had a 396BB/400 turbo from a 69 Caprice I had, rebuilt and installed.

When I bought it, it was dark blue with a white vinyl top. I had it repainted in about 1989 some color blue and had the vinyl top taken off and the roof painted white. In 1992/93 I had the body redone with new quarter panels, car stripped down to metal, and all rust taken care of. Car was than repainted in the factory Fathom blue and I had them add the white racing stripes. This is the paint job currently on the car now.

The car has a few options. Tilt steering, light package with under dash lights, trunk light, hood light, fiber optic ash tray light, fiber optic windshield washer monitor, remote outside mirror, delux seatbelts, and 12 bolt rearend. I added the factory tach and gauge instrument panel and rearview mirror with map light. Here are some of the pics.

Here is a picture of the intank washer monitoring system for those who have not seen one. Mine is currently out of the tank because I had to install a replacement tank because the original was cracked and I don't have a hole saw the correct diameter to drill a hole in the top of the replacement tank.

I hope to start redoing this car again in a couple of years when the house is payed for.

Thanks everyone. I really like it. It was my second car purchase and one that I've kept all of these years. One day I want to fix it up like it deserves.

Beautiful. Good on you for keeping it and restoring it. That's how it should be.

Nice Monte.

My dad's '70 Chevelle SS 396 has that washer monitor system, out of a G1 Monte. However, it does not work.
