ok, so i finally took some pics of the damage
and i dont turn my body to back up, i guess i worded that wrong....i was trying to say that i was actually paying attention to what was behind me, using the mirrors....so people didnt think i just backed up without looking

On the bright side it wasn't the trunk itself.
On a related note, how can one fix scratches on the plastic bumper, as I backed into a low wall the other day. Damn thing was in front of the curb, and came up just high enough to smack the center of the bumper.
I was looking at the passenger mirror and never saw the wall, it only covered half the parking space, too bad it was the half I wasn't watching.

I think the black look best on a black car. But that's just me.
