Angry Smelling Coolant

Good afternoon, I've a 2000 Monte Carlo LS (3.4 engine). I seem to be smelling coolant each time I drive the vehicle a for an hour or so but do not see any leaks after popping the hood. The engine isn't running hot and heater is heating very well. Have any of you had this issue and is so, where did you find the leak? Should I have it pressure tested or what? Thanks

Get the radiator pressure tester from the parts store and pump things up. Look/Listen/Inspect with a cool engine for leaks. I'd look at the lower intake gaskets (where the intake and heads meet). Also check the hood insulation for wetness above the water pump.

Do you notice any condensation on the windshield?

I wonder if you have a very slight leak in the heater core

My first bet would be on the water pump. Usually one of the first things to start leaking on a 3.4

FYI,

A pressure test was performed and showed that I have a leaking radiator a the base. Thanks for responding!

There is no condensation on the windshield; the pressure test showed that it was a leak in the bottom of the radiator. Thanks

The problem was a leaking radiator based on the pressure test. Thanks
