All "SS"s were 3.8
LS's were 3.4, that may be the lie right there.
He sold you an LS with SS badges? have pics for us to look at?

If it has the 3.4, then its an LS. All of the SS from 2000-2005 came with the 3.8. Have you thought about getting a CarFax on it?

I could take you some tomorrow but i think your right but it has all the features a ss has its loaded it has leather and everything.

no its a 3.4 im sure of it i just detailed the engine a few days ago and its says 3400 so im sure.

I thot that but i wasn't too sure.and i haven't.

Yea.But i dont want to waste money on the car unless im sure im going to keep it.

Jamao is right. Sounds like they took an LS and re-badged it into an SS and charged you SS money.
