Opinion Needed: Seats from one gen to another?

Seats from one gen to another?
OK, I found on Craiglist a wrecked 2004 Intimidator Monte Carlo the listing showed the Car and it looks like a roll over, So they want to sell the Car for 1500.00 and they also would part it out. So after 2 weeks they called me back. I had asked about the
Seats which they claim are very good I just want the front seats nothing else. I read once all you need to do is change the Tracks and the 6th Gen. should fit in a 5th Gen?
The price for the 2 front seats is $500.00 just wondering if that is to high or not? They say that they are perfect? I have heard this before too.
I don't think the car is repairable without expending a bunch of money.

here is a link to the wrecked Intimidator the seats look pretty good. However I just think 500.00 is a bit much for the seats.
The lady told me the here 16 year old son had it on Gravel swerved to miss a car and lost control. They only had Liability on the car. oops, on there part.
The Front wheel drive car can be a handful to hold onto once it is out of control you can't catch it easy as you can the rear wheel drive.

Oh they can buff that out!!!! LOL
The seats look to be ok but look a little "dry" and maybe a bit faded. I think they are asking a bit bit much at $500 but I guess they figure people will pay anything for those Earnhardt headrests.

I love it that will Buff out.
There are so many things that car needs that you need about 5 donor cars to bring it back.
The Dry seats I have seen before and if they have that "click" when you tap them with a fingernail. They are on there way to Cracking. I don't think there is anything you can apply to the leather that would bring them back.

I would love a set of bowtie headrests. I snoozed and missed a set on ebay a month or so back that went for like 30 bucks...ARGHHH
I am not sure what, if anything, can bring back leather but I would guess some reconditioning product could not hurt. I think there is also leather dye of some sort out there but I am not sure how well that would work or if it would rub off onto clothing, etc

I think $500 is a tad high on the price. There is a guy on kijiji up here that has a set of seats out of an 02 with a console and is asking $675 but they have been listed for well over a year now, so...........
I think if you wait and look you can buy a whole car for $500 with the seats and remove them and junk the car for at least half your money back if it runs, at least that's around what we get at a wreckers if the car drive in to the lot, and it goes up from there depending on condition plus you can strip some other parts from the car to totally recoup your investment
They do sell a leather reconditioner that may bring the leather back, I would suppose it would depend on just how dry the leather has become, maybe take some with you and try before you buy?
