Default RPM fluctuations

Hey guys, quick question. I was driving my 06' Monte on the high way yesterday and I noticed my RPM gauge kind of fluctuating between about 1700 RPM up to about 2000 RPM. I don't think I've ever noticed that before and I'm not sure anything is really wrong, I may just be paranoid because I had to deal with a trans issue on my first car. At first I thought my foot was fluctuating a bit an I just wasn't thinking about it but after I focused on it and tried not to move my foot it still did it. So I'm not sure if I'm just going crazy or if I do have an issue maybe starting up. My trans feels fine and the car only has 60K miles on it so I can't see how it could be going bad (granted I don't know how the previous owner drove it). Anyway, could it just be the DOD is coming on and off and that's where I'm getting the fluctuations? Have any of the other 7th gen guys noticed this? And if anyone has an idea i'm all game, like I said, I may just be paranoid because I had to deal with a trans issue on my old car and I really don't want to have to deal with another car especially on that, in terms of miles, isn't all that old. I appreciate any help, thanks.

Hopefully it's not the torque converter locking and unlocking. Check the trans fluid anyway and make sure it's not burnt.

Have you done anything to the intake lately? MAF sensor could be off/dirty.

No intake is all stock. And I changed the trans fluid in the car close to when I got it. So maybe 8 Months ago or so and the trans fluid looked good. Should I check it again anyway just to rule that out?
