Roll over crash

Roll over crash
Can anyone direct me to information on how our Monte's (mine is a 2007 SS) fair in a roll over crash. I am familiar with the roll over resistance rating from the National Highway Safety Administration (which is really a handling rating and not a crash rating) but I can not find any information on actual results from a roll over in a crash. My reason for asking is the debate I have over whether or not to put a roll cage in my car for drag racing purposes. Do I need a cage or not. My research so far has indicated that 3 & 4 point roll bars give no additional safety protection in a roll over for the driver (the driver can still be crushed with these roll bars installed) and to get added protection a 6 point minimum cage must be installed. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

sounds like if the driver can still be crushed with those, you would get crushed without them
honestly, i got hit in my truck and got about a foot of air after impact and landed on my roof and didnt even dent my body part of the roof, thats in a 95 dodge ram
monte carlos seem a bit more sturdy and also seem to have a little thicker frame

ohh i know this one lol
they hold up pretty well, mine when i got it rolled over 4 times & all it had was cosmetic damage, held the shape of the car really well there deff safe cars so idk if u would really need a cage or not ive got pics of mine after the roll over in my photos i think lol

I was thinking along the same line as you.
You'd have to check with the track you're racing at, or the official rules of the NHRA.

Around here, if your car runs under something like 13 seconds (I think it's 13, it may be something else, I don't remember for sure), you have to have roll cage, helmet, the whole nine yards in order to run it.
