Default Rev Limiter Gone?

Ok im puzzled 6 months ago i timed my 0-60 times and i kept getting 10-11 seconds, my rev was around 5500-5800rpm before it would shift to 2nd, since then all I've done was a complete tune up, and now my first gear takes me all the way to 60+mph and the car shifts at 7000rpm thats as far as my rpm gauge goes. I couldn't believe it so i timed my 0-60 times and now im at 6.7-7.5 (did 11 pulls), i still couldn't believe it so i had my friend with his 99 gtp race me till the car shifted to second by itself and now im pulling half a car length on him every time until my car shifts to 2nd then he smokes me, before he would kill me right off the line. Any idea what might cause this? My trans n engine r the same way they were 6 months ago

So this got me thinking what every ones rev limiter is..... my monte is a 6th gen LS 3400

you definitely shouldn't keep going to 7k rpms... that's horrible for the engine

are you tuned? you may be having a pcm issue... i would try a case relearn possibly?

Wow 60 mph in first gear? And 7k RPMs? You're gonna blow it up... Check your transmission fluid, you may have tranny solenoid issues making it so you don't shift on time... I'm just sayin, stop doing what you're doing or you're gonna break a valve spring and need a new engine.

I know 7k isnt good but i did try to do the key in ignition relearn set up, that didnt change anything. Plus 2 weeks ago i scanned my ECU/PCM and not one single problem poped up and im talkin about the computer dignostic machine which checks everything in the car, most mechanic shops charge 100+ to do it,

agreed, you need to check your trans fluid. i wouldn't do what you've been doing ever again, 11 pulls minimum it sounds like, that's way too much for both the trans and the engine

3400 is infamous for LIM gasket, this probably isn't helping..

Ok just went out to check my trans fluid level since the car is still warm, i turned on the car for a minute left it in park pulled the dip stick wiped it, put back in waited 30 seconds pulled it again and its red and level is dead on right,
Ps. I did those 11 pulls through out a whole week not all at the same day

Um, the rev limiter isn't what makes the car shift. It's your transmission shift tables.

you mean pcm? even without a rev limiter you should still be shifting, i read nitehawks post wrong, he's right it's the tables in your pcm telling your transmission when to shift, not the rev limiter
