ghetto vehicle repairs
hows about this for a discussion:
what is the worst, most ghetto-tacular repair you have ever been forced into doing to keep your car or truck running & driving?
i know about how bondo, chickin wire & newspaper make great rot repair, i have even seen cement used to fill a gaping hole on a furd cortina, lol.
then theres duct tape, which can act as weatherstripping, trunk, hood & door laches, ventshades, or seat upholstry.
i know that at least some members must have had a horrible vehicle before their montes, so what did you do to keep them on the road without dipping into the all important "monte down payment fund"
ps: does anyone know why some words in my post are highlited ads for , 'gah' TOYODA!!! (the horror)
(they just went away, phew')

I got 2.
I used to have a 60 Apache and used a hanger wire as an accelerator rod.
My brother used to have a 64 Impala. He and a friend were out in the rain and the wipers stopped working. They used shoe laces to tie them from both sides of the car and pulled back and forth to clear out the rain.

Wow how ironic. My brother had an 86 Chevy Celebrity that he named Chuck Norris and had all kinds of zip-tie / 550 cord repairs.
