I use the PF47 on my car, you should be fine. Although I still use Dino fuel, so I'm changing every 3k miles, if you are using a synthetic and keeping your oil filters on much longer than me...

MaMonte should be able to tell you for sure!

Not at all...

Either go with Castrol Edge (although, I would not use Castrol after that crap they pulled, not to mention its a BP product), or go with Mobil 1. Valvoline is also good, and that new Pennzoil Ultra Synthetic looks like some good stuff. etc, etc...

Mobil 1 gets my vote over anything though.

LMFAO!!!!! Ever since this BP cap thing has been going on, my wife refuses to give ANY kind of bussiness to BP, she just read about the castrol being a BP product (which I didnt even know) now she says we gotta switch. I guess Im gonna go with the mobile 1 then, now, Ive never used it or even took the time to look at it, what exactly am I gonna be looking for> What exactly is the name of it, just mobile 1 in the silver container?
What about the filter for the V8's? Anyone know for sure about using those? Thanks BTW.

I honestly don't know about the V8 filter thing. Actually the filter on the new 3500/3900 V6 is bigger than the filter used on the 5.3L...but IDK if any of them work on the 3400/3800.

As for Mobil 1, they have the regular Full Synthetic in the silver container, marked Mobil 1 Full Synthetic. (great stuff).

Then they have the gold capped stuff market Mobil 1 Extended Performance Full Synthetic. Also great stuff. Supposedly the Mobil 1 EP has more "super syn, and extra high viscosity lubricant" whatever. Either Mobil 1 is GREAT stuff, the Extended Performance version is about $7 more for a 5 quart jug at Wal-Mart. Personally, I use the Mobil 1 Extended Performance (gold cap) in my Monte, just because. LOL.

As for the filter, I always buy the really good filters just because I take advantage of synthetics and what they have to offer, extended drain intervals being one of those things. So I don't skimp on the filter. I usually get the Mobil 1, K&N, or Fram Xtended Gaurd (the one in the gold box, do NOT use the orange or silver boxed Frams).

And just for an FYI, when you are buying oil next time, flip a bottle of Castrol over, the BP logo is on the bottom of the back side. Also, another FYI, IDK if you have Arco gas stations, but Arco is also a BP product.

You need a KR Sensor to test for Knock

yeah, i guess i really dont care tho, ill spend money on other things like my exhaust first, i just want to do things that will help to decrease to KR, because those listed things wont harm my engine or anything to begin with
