I like it the way it is, cleaner look, actually I am going to do the same thing to mine when my trunk gets painted, scratches from previous owner(just the panel that has the lock, not where the stripes are). No more Monte Carlo(mine is blacked out anyway) and no SS when the time comes....And I find it funny that some people do not know what kind of car this is,lol. So when that is done, it won't say Monte Carlo anywhere! Just the crest till I put my grille on, then that will be gone too.

Well, I may have my crest up for grabs when my grille cover goes on. But now I am wishing I could trade mine for the TS version with no solid rectangle in the center for the bowtie....

Yes but I believe it is all grille, no solid rectangle in middle for emblem

How would that TS grille look? Ever see a pic of it? Who offers them? I'm not sure that would look too good, as you would still have that flat area where the crest used to be...I've noticed that on the Tony Stewart editions...

Most people put the "SS" emblems on that rectangle space left by the knight's crest.
I've seen it here, #2726 isn't that what's in yours? lol i can't really see it.

He's referring to the Tony Stewart grill, your thinking of the SLP grill. The SLP grill has the rectangle for the bowtie the TS grille is all grille, no rectangle.

Not the greatest image of the TS grille but the only one I can find quickly:

I personally like the SLP better because it DOES cover up the blank space where the crest should be/was much better.

#2726, The only place I know that produced the TS grille was GM.
