hey guys, i always wondered if my 88 monte was a clone or not. the guy i got it from really messed her up, she's far from original, cadillac seats, different doors, just a total mess. how can i find out if shes a true ss or not. her vin number is: 1g1gz37g4gr134761

 

this says it's base, which i would think means an ls?

yea my buddy has a real ss that he got from his dad, everything original but his also shows up as base, thats why i wanna know if there is an actual way of telling

looks to me like its a real ss, because the ls' came with the v6 it says. heres an example of an ls:

8th digit of vin is G so its a real SS.

 

thnx guys. hey trewyn15, for my car and the LS that you looked up, did you notice that it showed the driveline as being FWD

 

yeah, thats weird because there wasn't a fwd monte until 95? i figured it was just an error in the site.

 

x2, tool of the parts department trade says that it's a real SS.
