So my GTP has had a power steering leak since i bought it in november. At first it took a bottle of fluid a month to keep it running, now its taking a bottle every few days. Yesterday I crawled under it and cleaned off all the lines, the pump, and the rack to help find the leak, we immediately saw it coming from the rack. My neighbor has a grand pix and experienced the same problem with the rack and pinion and he just replaced it. I've been digging around on other forums and it seems this is a common problem on all w-body's. I've seen a lot of different opinions on the repairs, some say its just a few gaskets that need to be replaced, others say the whole rack and pinion has to be replaced, I was wondering if anyone here has had this problem and could give some input. I'm tempted to just replace the rack and be done with it, but if theres a cheaper way I'd love to hear it. I've already thrown in a few bottles of power steering fluid with stop leak and thats just slowed it down a bit.
