POSSIBLE NEW PROJECT
Hello all, well here is the story, My interior shop guy has a 1970 Monte Carlo that has been in their family the whole time. I am considering buying this car, It has the original bumpers and its a very straight body. It will need new interior and a new engine and paint, there is rust under the car and in the engine bay. Its a good deal and I may buy it. It does have the original transmission. I hope I can find the best places to order parts and find somebody who could help get the rust off the car and get it painted.

RE: POSSIBLE NEW PROJECT
i bought my 70 for 500. after 10,000 in parts, paint, time. it was valued at over 30k.
I would do it in a heart beat for somethign that straight and if it is a complete car you would never go wrong with it. you can part it out and get your money back if it had to come to that. But from what i can see i would say it is a eazy restro. project and i would do it.

You guys are my Inspiration, thanks for the tips, I didn't think of it as a very good investment but whatever I put into it would not go to waste. Thank you for the great feedback, I like this because it will teach me alot and the restro shouldn't be to hard. Since I talked about this to another person I have met locally, he told me he has done many restro's, so I think I will have very good direction.

If you aren't friends with Jared Richey you may want to consider doing so. Jared owns a couple of really nice 1st gen Montes. He may be a source of locating needed parts?
Cort can also be a source of great information. He owns every generation Monte ever built. We should call Cort, "Mr. Monte." cause he knows so much about them.
