Has anyone ever heard of these fancy building called "G-A-R-A-G-E-S"?? You tuck your car safely in these fancy buildings and LOCK them away. Now true, theives and robbers can break into these high tech buildings, but not before setting off loud, obnoxious alarms and lights... and in SOME occasions, booby traps!!

Not everyone is able to have a garage. I don't like the idea of having my Monte outside in the elements 24/7. But I, like many others, don't have a choice.

But thanks for the suggestion.

if you want to make sure your monte is always there in the morning install a fuel pump interupt switch on the ground side of the pump wiring. the ground for it is on the passenger side interior under the rocker panel lift it of gently so you don't break the clips and retainers and there are 2 blck wires going to the vehicle chassis. the larger wire is the ground for the pump. hide the switch somewhere and even though they got in and damaged the car it will still be yours and not missing.

the other thing you can do is pull the fuel pump relay out of the underhood fuse box whenever you park it.

as of now car is in body shop Next week they have to make their own list. if thier is more damage then what insurance says. They say it will be a Total loss. the Attemp Theft was 5500$ and the vadilizam was 1900. + the tow truck dmg 1200. total 8600$. Ill know evrything hopefully next week.

That sucks man!

WTF is the deal with the tow truck dragging your car 4 feet?

When I worked one summer with a local body shop, I went out with the tow truck driver many times. Never did he have to drag a car like that. Even if the drive wheels were not accessible to the tow truck. He simply used a jack. The hydraulic hand pump type with the little wheels. Simply raised the drive wheels off the ground, then he and I would carefully push the car into a position where he could get the car onto the truck. Took a little longer, but absolutely no damage what-so-ever.

If the tow truck driver dragged your car out of laziness, that towing company needs to pay up for the damage they did. That's bullsh*t!

Edit: I would report that towing company to your local Better Business Bureau.

The tow truck company should be held liable as well, they're suppose to be professionals...Morons!

Factory alarms are trash and only catch up novice thieves.

The only way the alarm goes off is if you open the door.... so they just need to spider one of the windows and just lean in and take what they want, or actually crawl through the broken window.

With the factory alarm even if they peal the lock, if they open the door it's going to go off, but to get into the trunk it's pretty common to see the lock pealed. (The bigger the hole the less experienced the thief)
