Default pcm crank fuse

I was checking my fuses by the driver door on the side of the dash. There were two fuses that were not getting power. I took fuses out and they tested good. Any idea what the PCM Crank 10a and the STR Col 2 a fuses are for and should they light up a test light or register system voltage while vehicle is running?

PCM Crank is the fuse for the crank circuit for the BCM. The STR COL is for the steering wheel lighting. Yes, they should both be powered with the car running. What type of problem are you having? No crank? There are other fuses that the starter circuit runs through that may be blown.

I am not having any issues with the car starting. It starts and runs decently.

I was just checking the fuses because the AC is not working.

I put a test light on all the fuses by the drivers door and the only two that did not activate the light were the STR Col and PCM crank.

And this is why I am perplexed about the whether the fuses should activate the test light ( the light was well grounded)

Any opinions?

After the test light did not activate. I removed the fuses and tested them with a DVM

I have a 2000 Chevy Impala LS with the 3.8L and I just bought the car like 3-4weeks ago and at first I had dash lights and tailights just fine. I have a Buffy of mine who plugged it up to his OBD2 Code Reader and it was giving a code for my BCM. Well I just recently installed a stereo system (basically the car had a system in it before because the wiring was already installed i just had to plug and play. Since then I've lost my dash lights completely. 1 or 2 days after the install I could hit the top of the dash and they would show, slowly they faded out since then and I've recently lost my running tailights, my break lights work just fine but no tailights and I'm having the same issue with the same two fuses getting no power could they be a reason I have no dash lights nor tailights.

Default Pcm crank fuse

Hello new to the site, im having the same issue with my 05 monte lt...been battling with this for well over a year now and really need help! It cranks but won't fire, no spark, all fuses and relays are good except pcm 10 amp dash fuse, str/col fuse, crank relay under hood missing power to a pin, as well as the igntion relay missing power to a pin. All others are good. All new parts, starter, ignition switch, battery, spark plugs, coils, wires, ignition control module, battery cables (both), ignition cylinder, crank and cam sensors! I have the infamous security message and battery on the dash display. Tested pcm for power and only pin failing is ignition wake up. Tested bcm grounding and I suspect an issue there. I've cleaned all ground that I could find, under air box and at the battery. Today I jumped 12v to yellow wire on ign switch and that gave power to pcm 10 amp but would constantly crank so I scrapped that. Only aftermarket add was a radio, but I put factory back in. Looks like the place that installed it did some type of bypass, and I feel like that's where my problems began! I've tried countless relearns with no success, and I love my MC and dont wanna give up on it! Sorry this such a long post but im at the end of my rope and would really appreciate any help or tips!! Thank you!!
