Hi all, I was just wondering if anyone knows if a trunk lid off a 2004 monte will fit my 05? I am looking into buying a trunk lid with the stand up spoiler to replace my surfboard. Please advise, thanks

 

'04 and '05 have the same bodystyle I believe. I don't remember any major bodystyle changes between the two that would make them incompatible. Should be fine, unless someone here knows more about the trunk lids than I do.

 

You are GOLD, no issues at all will come about from swapping an 05 trunk lid onto an 04...

2003 and up transmissions will not directly fit the 00-02 Montes.
Pretty much everything else is interchangeable between 00 - 05 years.

 

Do you know about the locks on the 04 ? How would I be able to by pass? Can I change out the lock so my key will work to open it?

 

There shouldn't be a trunk key on the 2005, do you have one?

This was going to be my talk about putting a 2004 onto your 2005, I was going to ask what you would do about the lock that was added.

 

Yes sorry I don't know if I wrote it wrong.... I own an 05 Monte with surfboard looking to put an 04 trunk lid on the 05. Want to know about the lock more and how I can either bypass it or configure it to my key??
