Can anyone tell me how popular this paint job was and why I have yet to see another Monte in my area with one like it?

I'm guessing that you are wondering about the pinstripes on the flares? I think we determined before that it was the dealers that put on the pinstripes, like the red/white ones in that picture. I don't think I've ever seen two montes with the same pinstripes. I didn't even realize that mine weren't stock until a few people asked me were I got them. I still need to get some pictures taken that show 'em better.

I know how you feel. A previous car of mine was so common, you couldn't throw a stone without hitting one exactly the same.

 

There is a blue 06 with them in white in my area.

 

LOL thats why i love having my 81 in original gold color. For starters, you dont see many 81 MCs around, and if u do they are usually black or gray
