We went up to see my parents for Thanksgiving, and as usual, I picked up the Houghton Lake Resorter newspaper and browsed the classifieds. Right on top of the auto section was this" 88 Monte Carlo SS 305 H.O. Auto. 61,000 miles. New tires. No rust. One owner. Original window sticker. $4000.

So I called when I got home, but it was just sold. I sincerely hope the new owner enjoys his new purchase.

Funny that we both went to visit our folks and ended up finding a Monte we wanted though, eh?

Honestly, if I could afford a second car, a late 80's SS is exactly what I would want (well, a 69-70 nova or an 87 grand national would be up there too).

I'm sure that a deal that was meant to be will come along in time. A month or so ago, I came across a 2004 s/c ss that I really wanted, called about it, but they had sold it that morning. A month later I found a 2004 intimidator with half the mileage for a grand less.

Seems like things work out that way more often than not.

Best of luck if you are looking for an 80's SS though. Definitely one of of my favorite cars of all times.
