Unhappy just sold the 'ol girl...

yep I can't believe it either... after 7 years of ownership at the end of this week the monte is going to a new home. I loved that car but haven't had enough time for it for the last few years... cool part is the new owner is a co-worker who was in need of a second car to run around, and he's more OCD about taking car of his stuff than anyone I've ever seen, so I feel she went to a good home where I can still keep an eye on her... also have first dibs if the car gets sold

Dang, sad to see it go. The red really livened up the pictures for our meets and it was the only 5th gen after mine was gone.

I know that feeling, I was very sad to see my Monte go. I loved that car...I still think about it. But I also love my new car.

I think it's pretty cool you know where it's going and will still get to see it!

thanks guys. i'm still trying to get used to the idea of not having it in the driveway, lol. i'm still planning to hang around the forum & attend any meets that are local, even if I have to take my truck ('bout as un-monte as they get ).

BUT I didn't really want to sink any more money into it, and I never drove it anymore (honestly the high point meets were the farthest from home that car has been in over 2 years). I've had my eye on some other toys for the last year or so (some of you remember the 4th gen I tried to buy) and I needed to make room if I choose to go that route.

so for right now I've got a couple of different routes I may take for my next "toy"
#1 ( probably most likely right now, soon as the snow melts)... since the end of last fall I've been pursuing a '58 chevy apache 3100 series napco 4x4 conversion truck. it was completely frame off restored in 1994, but has been left outside for the last 10 years and needs tires & a re-paint eventually (basically a 20 footer at this point). real solid, RARE truck that's been ******* my thoughts all winter. talked the owner, came to a reasonable price but decided to "sleep on it" until spring. gonna give him a call in the next couple of weeks

#2 if the truck doesn't happen, i'm gonna spend some time looking for a decent 4th gen monte SS as a summer cruser

or #3 if I can't find a monte I like i'll invest the money into trying to get the buick togeather & on the road

Thats a bummer man, at least you did sell yours to a high school kid like I did mine, I regret it all the time but I could only have 1 toy and I decided I wanted a Camaro
