Great thread here, several yellow beauties on display; worth a big bump-up!
But it also got me to wondering, how did bright, bold yellow come to be considered a Monte Carlo color in the first place? Was yellow ever a color choice for any previous MC generation before the sixth?
My best guess is that Chevy was "spreading it around" a little, coming off the then-new Millennium Yellow Corvette ZO6, the converti-truck SSR, and I believe even the Cavalier got a yellow paint option at about the same time. So any Chevy that had a "sporting" flavor to it got some yellow, to convey more visibility and confidence. It just interests me to know the real story on how car companies decide on colors and special editions and such.
