RE: no more montes??
yeah, the market is gone for them... the resale is @!(#*. i wish i had known you guys had to give away an 03,i wouldh ave gone anywhere for a free car, heck i'd ship it from australia . but anyway, i remember the aveo, chevy made about $100,000 and sold 3. a chevy dealer in VA beach ran a special for awhile, if you bought a silverado, tahoe, suburban, or corvette, you could get a chevy aveo for free. they were getting desperate to move them.

Get rid of the 4 doors wearing SS badges. You want to go fast, get a two door, or strap a rocket engine to your minivan.
Also GM has got to stop with the sticker swapping. For example, the pontiac pursuit and chevy cobalt. Ok. We know they are the same car. Why fake it and waste money by producing 2 cars that are the same. And 5 mini vans with different names? Build one model, and leave it. Gm's been doing this for years tho.

I remember GM in the 80's had a re-badged version of everything. Classic example was the early 80's Cavalier. There was a Chevy Cavalier, Pontiac Sunbird, Oldmobile Firenza, Buick Skyhawk, and a Cadillac Cimarron version.

Same here.
I would have went a distance for a free car. Especially a new one.
When the '06 Montes came out I knew I wanted one. After we rented the 2LT for the Monte Nats trip I defiantelty knew I wanted one. I like the re-style.
If the Monte does come back and with no market for a larger 2-door coupe it could be the Monte will come back as a mid-size like the '95-99 Montes?
Would anyone buy one if they did?

Actually I just looked it up at http://autos.msn.com
5th gen: 200.7 x 70.5x 53.8
6th gen: 197.9 x 72.3 x 55.2
So they are very close together. Maybe it is just the style with the spoiler or something in the back that I see it... probably some optical illusion but I could swear the 6th gens were like a foot longer and they are actually shorter.
