New Tires???????
Hello everyone it has been a while
Any who, It's tax time and my return money is all going to new tires. I'm way over due for some new ones and I just wanted to see what you guys/gals think!
Best price/performance
I have about $450-$500 for this purchase.
Thanks for any info or insight

I just put Michelin Hydroedge tires on my Monte in September. I LOVE them, they are pretty quite (not silent, but pretty quiet), they are awesome in the rain, and they handle really well when you throw them into turns. I have 10K on mine so far, and I have not rotated them yet (i know a little over due for that) the rears look brand new still, and the fronts still have 85% of their tread left. I would definitely recommend them, they are a tad pricey (I paid 110 a tire, which is way cheap for the Hydroedge), but this is one of those "you get what you pay for" things.
If you are not looking to spend that much on tires, I previously had Continental ContiPro Contacts on the Monte. They were a good overall tire, very well priced (I paid about 75 a tire) and I got 63,000 miles out of the set, which is very responable.

Seems like luck of the draw depending on the exact tire and when you're looking. Prices generally seem comparable to others. But their shipping charges are kinda harsh. I just purchased tires locally this week because the local price out-the-door was better than Tire Rack when I factored in shipping.
I think Discount Tire Online has free shipping (or it's included in the price).

tirerack has gotten pricey,i have purchased 3 sets of tires from them in the past, but i just purchased tires and wheels for the Monte Carlo and tires for the Trans Am from discount tire direct, they offer free shipping and i saved a boat load of money.discount tire direct is the only place to buy tires from, imo.
