There's a new Coupe coming. Don't expect it to be badged "Monte Carlo." Look for something out of the Muscle History of GM to come-back with all the fixin's EXCEPT "Luxury" attached to it in any way. Monte Carlo is a luxury car. That's the publics perception.

GM needs a sales winner. It wouldn't surptize me to see them call it "Chevelle." A RWD Big-6 or Medium sized V-8 with SS Packaging and goodies like you see in the Ricers.
Paddle shifters. Manual or Auto Tranny. Maybe witha page ripped out of VW's Playbook with an AWD Option. Look for it to be "Special" in some way with not a whole lot of them offered first time around.

But it will definitely be one of those cars where the answer to all the questions is YES! Does it have ... ??? "Yes"!!!

i wouldn't mind the Chevelle coming back... in all honesty, it has a more muscle car history than the Monte Carlo ;(

BTW, great job reviving an old dead thread. This is happening a lot lately

Got any more details on that one???

As of right Now GM is banking on the Maro only, cuz they are going to live or die with it.
As far as a RWD Monte GM shoulda had the 06-07 in RWD or AWD but they never get anything right and thats why we love them. For crying out loud Hyundai is coming out with a RWD Coupe and sedan. HYUNDAI.

The one thing you can bank on though GM makes some bad *** almost bulet proofpushrod V8's
even though everything else in the car is so and so and their QC sucks.
Still there isnt another car that I would rather drive.
OK maybe a Vette.

The GTO was designated to be a limited run vehicle to GM could gauge response to RWD vehicles from the Aussies...it was also a precurser to the G8. (which I can't wait for!!) I was working security at a facility that designs exhausts (we all know it as Walker, Dynomax, Magnaflow, and Thrush, and saw a middle easter spec RWD Chevy Lumina SS, which has been in production for a couple of years and is also the cousin to the G8/Commodre VE....I believe we'll see a Rustang fighter under the name of Monte Carlo again, because the Camaro is out of the Mustang's performance league right now until Ford unveils the Boss line of V8's...That's just my opinion anyway, so we'll just see. The part about the GTO and G8was found on www.motortrend.com.

I would love to see the photos of how your doing the RWD 01 monte.
I seriously had wished i had the place, time, money, and exta car to tear it apart and make one of my own.

As for the GTO. I would love to get one i wished i had knowen at the time i was going to buy a car when i bough th monte . I would have looked in to the GTO . real close.

It is a LT1 camaro engin in the body of of the GTO remake. they are a bad azz car. and driving the one i have they are defently impressive in preformance etc...

I prefer to keep the "how I did it" a secret but ill definently post pics and vids once im finished with it. But, one thing i will say is this, when im done you wont really be able to tell ive done anything, which is exactly how i want it to look. My goal is for no one to be able to tell the modifications ive done to it. Think "sleeper"

I prolly worded thsi wrong the how dont nother me not seeing how that is kind of obvious.
not to difficult to figure out that the motro and tranny have to sit in it in the right direction instead of side ways LOL

i have built hot rods from the ground up so it is not hard to see it can be done.
I would liek to see the this is what it looks like when done or threw out the stages type thing.
Good luck on the progress etc.. they are not exactly easy to work on all the time.
what motor did ya chose for the drive line?
