Shocker, there is no central place to jack up the rear. Since it has an independent rear suspension, your only option is to jack up each side individually and put jack stands in place.

By the way, I just completed putting drilled and slotted rotors on my '03. I put them on the rear last week. It was actually a mistake then though. I replaced the rear rotors and pads right after I got the MC. I had a sticking parking brake on the right side and when I took the wheel off, I noticed the pads in the rear were shot. Put new pads and rotors on the rear then. A few weeks later, I found a good deal on a set of drilled/slotted for the front so I ordered them. Turns out, I ordered rears by mistake. So, rather than send them back, I replaced the 3 week old rotors in the rear with the new ones and ordered a correct set for the front. So, I'm getting pretty good at working on my MC's brakes. I think if I had too, I could replace all 4 rotors and pads in under 2 hours. So far, I love the look of drilled and slotted rotors all the way around.

Right on the forward bolt joint of the rear control arms. That's where I've found works best when resting the back of the car on jack stands.

Also, brakes, calipers, and brackets look good. So did you just blast the brackets and leave them bare metal?

thanks. I really like the contrast those calipers give my rims now. Yes I media blasted them so the were shiny again. I know it will only be temporary but I wanted to make sure I liked the black/silver setup first before I painted them or anything

Good upgrade to have done. You should get great performance from them. I use Wagner Thermoquiet pads. Feels like you have no brakes when they are cold, but once they are heated up, superior braking stopping performance.

Very nice looking Monte you have going for yourself. Man you don't put any miles on her in the course of a year... Lucky dog

Looks nice. I just put on the power stop kit on my 03. i got it for only 129.99 delivered from summit. Amazing stopping power. Be sure to break in the pads properly to avoid squeeling when you brake.
Do 5 50mph to 10mph HARD brakings. Do not stop!

Then do 5 30mph to 10mph MODERATE brakings alowing time for cool down in between each time. Again, Do not stop.

then allow a final cool down and your set!

Thanks for the info. I will do it. I was told to make sure I got out and do some hard braking to break them in right away but this is a little more detailed.

Thanks! I am curious to see how these perform and let alone drive the car with them installed haha. I am lucky I have another car to drive when I need to so I only put 5-7k on the Monte a year. I also work in the town I live so that helps too.
