yea ive heard of those before, but how hard is it to do that? I was considering that but i figured that i would end up doing it wrong and it would take a lot of work anda lot of preparation and that i would mess it up somehow.

Not hard at all.
Just take the tails right out of the car. (Not hard)
clean them very well with rubbing acohoyl and some wax/degreaser and some simple dish soap and then tape it off very well and spray even light coats untill you get the darkness your looking for. Now it takes about 30 mins between coats. Mine was 3 coats. Now I seen them BLACK before. Then after you like what you done you must clear it a few times, again with the light coats.

Steve, your newly blacked out taillights look awesome.
I'm not sure if window tinting is legal in your state, but if so, definitely save up and get the windows tinted. It would complete the package, and make an already great looking car even better.
A friend of mine did what bonang did, and it came out looking good.
