I'm sorry you lost the car, but it looks like it's been played with quite a bit. The black instrument cluster pod should be camel colored, the Hurst shifter is incorrect, you say the engine was replaced and it looks like it has a cowl hood. My first car, bought in November of 1985 was a white '78 4-speed 305 Monte with camel interior. I loved the car except for the rusting rear body mounts. I started a body-off restoration in 1989 and then life took over. The car has been sitting, disassembled, in a dairy barn since 1994.

Sad thing is that this was my favorite car. I did some engine work - cam, quadrajet, headers, etc. and my dad welded up a dual exhaust for it. It had the factory sway bars and, once the engine was woken up, it was a surprisingly good performer. Good times...

 

Sorry to hear about that man. I had a similar thing happen to me when I was looking at a truck at a dealership. I test drove it and found a few issues I wanted adressed. I told them fix these issues and either give me more on trade for my car or lower your price and we have a deal. They said ok we can do that we will call you when the trucks ready for pickup. I got the whole congrats on your new truck line from them a hat and a couple pens and then I was told I would get a call when the things I asked to be fixed were done and then we would start the process. I get a call 4 days later the voicemail said "Ohh hey Chris just calling to let you know we sold that Ram you were looking at. A father and his son came and looked at it about 10 minutes after you. They drove it and didn't find anything wrong with it like you said, so they bought it that day. If theres anything else we can help you with give us a call." Needless to say I will never go back to that dealership after we had a clear deal. I'm guessing its because the truck needed a new transfer case and they didnt wanna put it in so when the other guy didnt notice it they just sold it to him instead.
