hey all. my name's Eric and im glad to say im getting my first Monte Carlo on friday...its an 81 in desperate need of paint, but its already got some nice SS wheels on it and an awesome 350 with some great sounding flowmasters. its got an indash tv/dvd/etc/etc but ill probably sell that because im planning on putting in one or two 11" flipdowns instead. i've got a few questions for the veterans of the early 80's models on here (if u wouldnt mind helping):

-any suggestions on paint/styles? i was thinkin keep it 80's vintage and do black or white, with a burgundy (to match the interior) rally stripes

-the bolt pattern is 5x120.7 right? (5x4.5?)

-whats the best tire size/rim size combo for this year? also, whats the biggest i can go without lifting the car (im thinkin 20's with low pros). can i fit 22's? haha.

im in richmond va if anyone wants to meet up sometime, let me know.
im also on aim: Rydnlow1120
I'm on a lot of car forums, i've owned a few cars in my day and for being 19, im glad to say that i've paid for all of them with hard work/hustle! (no, not illegal hustle like most kids) Currently, I'm driving my 2000 Stratus and my 97 Honda Civic in the works...and soon my monte.

Hi and welcome,

I like the idea of white, but these are nice in burgandy or red.
