i want to put an intake in my car, i have the pcm in my stock air box but not with the intake i will have no where to place it until i get the part that i need, will this affect my car if its just hanging there or not? thanks

You will not want to let the PCM hand there for sure. At one point and time Intense Racing or ZZP had a PCM relocation kit that was popular for this and not sure if they carry them now.

Have you considered gutting your factory air box instead of replacing the entire box?

If you are doing it for looks that is one thing and by all means change it out, but if you are looking for more airflow save yourself the $$$$ and gut your airbox.

if i bungee it down tho will it set anything off? im going to just add some tubing and go with a cone filter for now to improve air flow, but then there's no where to put the pcm that goes into the air box, but im not really sure what that part of the pcm does

 

What are your actual plans for this?

It sounds like you are just building a hot air intake and that's honestly not going to help anything, it will only hurt the performance.

 

okay heres what i wanna do, i wanna gut the stock air box, but im not sure on a way to do this efficiently, any ideas?

Bungee is a temporary until he gets his PCM tray :P
