i usta call it the full monte, then i renamed it breakacus downaloticus, then i named it poor thing (cos aaa transmissions destroyed it) and now im stuck on a new name, kinda leaning towards dammit LOL

When Ol' Red (my truck) would act up and wouldn't want to start it would get called "&*#@ POS @#$!^&% Hunk-o-Junk you're going to the scrap heap, you better start". Then it would usually start, LOL.

Mine is Christine. The day I drove it off the lot I got 200 miles away and the speedometer and tech went out. By turning the car to assessory and off I was able to reset it until I got home and had my local dealership put in a new cluster to solve the problem. Every so often I get the Security andTrac control lights to jump on. Since it has a mind of its own - Christine.

 

How's this for the resurrection of a dead post? My sincerest apologies to mrl390 but... Since it's been so long and I was wondering the same thing myself how about those that missed the post in the first go round speak up.

In my case I hadn't really ever "named" a car before. I don't speak to other people about "My car 'Bob' and I.." But at times I did have nicknames for them. Of course the tradional "Piece of Sh**" when it wouldn't start but usually when I "talked" to my vehicles I'd simply call it "Bud". Not the name but just short for buddy. My Z28 I did nickname Thumper, because of the exhaust and what he does to Mustakes.

But with this Monte... While washing it last weekend I got to thinking that for whatever reason she needed a name. (Yes I decided it was a she but with a full size pick up and a Z28 sitting next to it... yeah thats a she, pretty and sweet but she'll pull the claws out when she needs to!) Anyhow, to make a short story even longer, I figured a name for a Monte had to have a tip of the hat to her NASCAR roots, but face it there are few and far between ladies in NASCAR over the years (Louise... nah, Patty... *picturing Marges sister on the Simpsons* Hell no!.... ummmmm OK). Finally came up with Allison, A kind of tribute for Bobby, Donnie, Davey and Clifford. Yeah I know I'm really unclear of any Montes they drove either (I think Davey drove one in Busch didn't he?) but... So what do you think "Allison" Good, bad, goofy, indifferent let me hear it.

Anyhow as I said way back when lets open this back up to those that missed it the first time.
